$20.00 Double Eagles (Saint Gaudens 1907-1933)
The $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle coin (1907-1933) is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful coins minted by the United States Mint. The obverse reveals Augustus Saint-Gaudens Lady Liberty walking with torch in hand to light her way. The reverse highlights an eagle in flight above a rising sun and the words, “In God We Trust.” The edge also features stars and the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The coin was minted to weigh 33.40 grams and contains 90% gold & 10% copper.
