Obverse

In the obverse design of 2023 Somalia Silver Elephant Coins, the Bavarian State Mint features the Somali coat of arms. This design shows the national seal with a crowned shield, a single star at the center, and leopards supporting it on either side.

Reverse

For the reverse face of 2023 10 oz Silver Elephant Coins, the mint offers another new image of the African bush elephant. The largest living elephant species and largest living land mammal, the African bush elephant is shown here using its long, powerful trunk to reach into the trees to strip leaves off for a meal.

History
