Year of the Wood Dragon 2024
While 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, more specifically, it’s the Year of the Wood Dragon. What some don’t know is that each year has one of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) assigned to it. This turns the 12-year cycle into a 60-year cycle. 2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon, an event that won’t happen again until 2084.
The dragon represents auspicious qualities such as good health, fortune, strength, and courage. It’s said that more children are born during the Year of the Dragon than in any other year, a statement that was confirmed by the University of Washington.
The dragon is the 5th animal in the zodiac. It’s said that the Jade Emperor created a race across a rapid river with every animal. The first 12 to finish would be represented in the zodiac. The dragon finished 5th, and as such, is the 5th animal in the zodiac.
