History

Chinese Gold Panda Coins were the first in the world to use new designs on the reverse side each year. In fact, there has been only one repeat design in the history of this series. The 2002 coin featured the same design as the 2001 issue. This decision was so unpopular with investors that the Chinese Mint immediately reversed course back to its use of new designs each year.
