Reverse
For the reverse design field of 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle Coins, the US Mint offers one of two designs. From 1986 to mid-2021, the mint featured John Mercantis heraldic eagle. As of mid-2021, the coins feature Emily Damstras depiction of an eagle soaring with an oak branch in its talons.
History
Proof American Silver Eagle Coins were issued by San Francisco with S mint marks from 1986 to 1992, and again as of 2018 as supplemental issues alongside West Point issues. The Philadelphia Mint issued the coins from 1993 to 2000 with P mint marks. As of 2001, the West Point Mint issues the coins with W mint marks.
