Walking Liberty is featured on the obverse of 2023 American Silver Eagle Coins. This vision of Liberty offers a full-length depiction of the female allegory in left-profile relief. She walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand extended, her left carrying branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag draped around her shoulders.
Reverse
An American bald eagle is depicted in the reverse design of the 2023 1 oz Silver Eagle Coin. This new design from 2020 was created by Emily Damstra. First issued on the coins in mid-2021, this design shows the frame of the eagle in left-profile relief with its powerful wings flexed and its talons clutching an oak branch.
History
Emily Damstra is the new designer of the reverse eagle design in this series and is no stranger to coin designing. She worked on various programs at the Royal Canadian Mint in the 2010s, as well as the America the Beautiful Series at the United States Mint.
