Reverse

An American bald eagle graces the reverse side of 2023 1 oz Gold Eagle Coins. In this design, the head of the bald eagle is shown in left-profile relief with incredible layers of detail. The striking gaze of the eagle and its exceptional plumage.

History

American Gold Eagles were available from 1986 to mid-2021 with a different reverse design. The original artwork on the reverse was created by Miley Busiek and featured a family of bald eagles in the nest.
