The production team on Peter Jackson’s film adaptation ofThe Fellowship of the Ringused a mixture of models and digital sculpting to create the epic-scale Gates of Argonath. These immense monuments, taller in the film than the tallest of statues in our world even today, were creations of magic made in tribute to a pair of ancient kings of the fantasy realm of Gondor, men who did battle with the greatest powers of evil in Middle-Earth and were the source of two different royal lineages.
