Obverse
Walking Liberty is on the obverse of all 2023-W Proof American Silver Eagles. Adolph A. Weinman created this left-profile portrait of Liberty for the US half dollar in 1916 and it was used on that coin through 1947.
Reverse
An American bald eagle swoops into view on the reverse of 2023-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles. This design was created in 2020 by Emily Damstra as the first-ever redesign of American Silver Eagle Coins. It depicts an eagle with raised wings and an oak branch in its talons.
History
These Proof Silver Eagles also have DCAM and First Strike designations. DCAM stands for deep-cameo and refers to the presence of strong, frosted designs with deeply-mirrored, clear fields. First Strike coins are those received for certification within 30 days of release from the mint.
