History

The Crown of St. Wenceslas is made of gold and decorated with precious stones and pearls. It weighs almost 5.5 lbs and is adorned with 96 rubies, 44 sapphires, 30 emeralds, and numerous pearls. The crown’s design features fleur-de-lis motifs and a Latin inscription from the book of Isaiah (41:10) that reads, “I will strengthen you and help you, and uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
