Inspired by a mythological bird from the Roman Era, this design depicts an eagle with two heads looking to the right and left, respectively. History

Originally appearing on Roman coins, Germania was depicted as both a subservient Amazon and a regal figure inspired by ancient deities. It wasnt until the Early Modern era that Germania was established as the truly dignified warrior and Mother of the Nation by King of the Romans Maximilian I.
