Obverse

On the obverse of 2018-S 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins, Walking Liberty is depicted. Draped in an American flag, Liberty walks forward with one arm extended and the other holding branches of laurel and oak.

Reverse

The reverse of 2018-S Proof American Silver Eagle Coins contains a heraldic eagle motif. Designed by John Mercanti, this design features a bald eagle carrying arrows and an olive branch in its talons. There are also inscriptions of the coins hallmarks along the edge.

History

Edmund C. Moy was born in 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. A triple major in college, Moy later worked at Blue Cross for a decade before joining the George W. Bush administration. Following a stint as the Special Assistant to the President, Moy was appointed as the 38^th director of the United States Mint in 2006.
