Obverse

2005-W Proof American Silver Eagles feature a Walking Liberty design on the obverse. Adolph A. Weinman was commissioned to design an image for the half-dollar in 1916 which now features on the obverse of American Silver Eagles. This image shows Liberty donning the American flag and oak branches strutting toward the sunset. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2005.

Reverse

The reverse of 2005-W 1 oz Proof American Eagles features the modernized heraldic eagle designed by John Mercanti. This image features a bald eagle with its wings spread and the national shield on its chest. 13 five-point stars are over the eagles head. Inscriptions on this field include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ, FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR.

History

Proof coins are graded on a scale from 1-70 with PF69 and PF70 coins being the most common. The NGC consists of 30-full time coin certifiers who go through an extensive grading and encapsulating process.
