History

Unlike its gold counterpart, the American Silver Eagle is exclusively struck in a 1 oz weight, always minted in .999 fine silver. While the San Francisco Mint, Philadelphia Mint, and West Point Mint all contribute to the overall production of these coins, it is the West Point Mint alone that houses the Burnished American Silver Eagles.
