Reverse

On the reverse field of all 2023-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagles, you’ll find Emily Damstra’s flying eagle design. This fresh depiction replaced the static heraldic eagle design that graced the reverse from 1986 to the first half of 2021. The new design showcases a majestic bald eagle in flight, clutching oak branches with its talons. Surrounding this image, you’ll discover important coin identification markings. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, W, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ, and FINE SILVER.
