Reverse

John Mercantis heraldic eagle design with 13 five-point stars over its head is shown on the reverse of 1991-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles. This bald eagle is shown with its wings spread wide and the national shield on its chest. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ, FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, S, E PLURIBUS UNUM.
