Obverse

The obverse of these coins showcases a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Canadian artist Dora de Pedery-Hunt. Reverse

On the reverse field, you’ll find the iconic maple leaf design by Walter Ott, a symbol synonymous with Canadian pride. History

The RCMs roots can be traced back to 1908 when they were just known as the Royal Mint. Following The Great Depression, they joined with the Canadian Government to create the Royal Canadian Mint. Now, the Royal Canadian Mint has two locations, the original in Ottawa which handles domestic production, while the newer Winnipeg location deals with international production.
