The obverse side of the 2022 American Gold Eagle Coins features the timeless image of Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. Reverse
On the reverse side, the new Jennie Norris design captures the magnificence of the bald eagle in breathtaking detail. This stunning portrayal is created by Jennie Norris. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, JN, 1 OZ, 50 DOLLARS, and FINE GOLD.
History
In 2021, the US Mint debuted a new reverse image for gold and silver American Eagles. 2021 saw Miley Busieks image bear the reverse in the first half of the year while the brand-new Jennie Norris design took the reverse in the latter half of the year. 2022 marks the first time that Norriss design is the only image shown.
