History

Throughout the years from 1878 to 1904, the United States Mint consistently issued the Morgan Silver Dollars. Initially, the coins were struck in Philadelphia, Carson City, and San Francisco. Following the Civil War and Reconstruction, the New Orleans Mint reopened and joined the minting process one year later. Carson City produced the coins until 1885, and then again from 1889 to 1893. Additionally, the Denver Mint briefly issued the coins in 1921 during the revival of the Morgan design.
