The back of the 2024 1 Kilo Silver Britannias has Britannia, a symbol of how strong Britain is and its powerful navy. Britannia is standing by the coast with a trident in one hand, a shield with the Union Jack in the other, and a special helmet on her head.

History

Britannia first showed up on British coins way back during Roman times when Britain was part of the Roman Empire. But the way Britannia looks on British coins today started during the time of Charles II in the late 1600s. Her image has changed as time went on, showing different art styles and what Britain stands for.
