History

Throughout the history of Morgan Dollars, five branch mints played a role in striking these coins. Philadelphia and San Francisco consistently struck them each year. The New Orleans Mint issued the coins every year, except for 1878 and 1921. The Carson City Mint struck coins from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893 before closing. The Denver Mint only produced them in 1921.
