Obverse

On the obverse of 2023 Proof American Platinum Eagles is a depiction of acorns on a mature oak tree, honoring the concept in the First Amendment that a free press enables the idea of Liberty to bear fruit.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2023-W 1 oz Proof Platinum Eagle features the new common design for the series. Since 2018, this bald eagle in flight has been depicted with its wings swept forward as its talons clutch an olive branch.

History

This set of 2023-W 1 oz Proof Platinum Eagle Coins includes three individually-slabbed coins, each with a signed label bearing the signature of Thomas S. Cleveland, the Master Designer of the US Mints Artistic Infusion Program (AIP). Additionally, each slab features the name of a different city: Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Denver.
