Obverse

The obverse design of these Gold Lunar Dragon Coins showcases Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, as captured by Jody Clark in 2015. The Queen wears the George IV State Diadem, while the field features the 70-year date mark representing her reign as the Queen of England.

Reverse

On the reverse side, artist Ing Ing Jong delivers a captivating portrayal of the Chinese dragona serpent-like creature with four legs, coiled before stylized depictions of fog and waves. This side also includes a P125 mint mark, commemorating Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.

History

The Chinese dragon holds a rich history spanning thousands of years, deeply rooted in Chinese culture. It symbolizes imperial power and was often associated with emperors, who were referred to as “Sons of the Dragon.” The dragon motif adorned imperial architecture, clothing, and art, signifying authority.
