Obverse

On the obverse of 2018 2 oz Reverse Proof Silver Libertads, you will find the modern Mexican coat of arms surrounded by 10 different versions of the seal. The central design is the modern coat of arms, with 10 historic versions around it that include the 1524 design from the Codex Mendoza at the top of the field.

Reverse

History

Within the Proof Series, 2 oz and 5 oz coins were issued for the first time in 1996. In 2017, the Mexican Mint introduced a reverse-proof version in 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz silver, followed by an antique finish in those same three weights that was offered only in 2018 and 2019.
