History
In 1927, the United States Mint issued Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagles at three branch mints. At the time, the Philadelphia Mint, Denver Mint, and San Francisco Mint were the only active branch mints of the US Mint. The bulk of production in 1927 came at the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints, with Denver contributing a small volume of coins.
