History
Morgan Silver Dollars were last minted in 1921 as the US Mint resumed producing silver dollars. The previous Morgan Dollar was issued in 1904, with no production during the 1910s and World War I. After the war, the decision was made to restart silver dollar production with a new design. Until that new design was ready, the mint used the Morgan Dollar design from January to mid-December 1921.
