On the reverse of this 2024 1 oz Colorized Australian Lunar Red Dragon Coin, a magnificent red dragon soars around the right side of the 2024 1 oz Colorized Australian Lunar Red Dragon Coin. The traditional Chinese character for the dragon is also depicted, along with a special P125 mint mark to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. Inscriptions include P125 and DRAGON 2024.
History
The Perth Mint Lunar Series began in 1996 with gold coins. Silver coins were introduced in 1999 and have been issued annually since. The series started with the Year of the Rat, and when it cycled back to the Rat in 2008, the Perth Mint initiated Lunar Series II. We are now in Lunar Series III.
