Obverse

On the obverse of the 2024 Silver Happy Diwali Medallion is an image of Ganesha seated on a cushion. History

The celebration of Diwali has roots in ancient Hindu legends, with various regions celebrating different stories. In Northern India, it honors Lord Rama’s return after defeating Ravana, while in Southern India, it celebrates Lord Krishna’s triumph over the demon Narakasura.
