The Peace Silver Dollar was first released in 1921 by the US Mint and is known as the final silver dollar series ever produced by the United States. Its introduction coincided with the last year of the Morgan Dollar series, and the Peace Dollar program continued until 1935, when the minting of silver dollars ceased permanently. History
The 1922 and 1923 issues of the Peace Silver Dollar represented the highest production volumes by the United States Mint. Both years saw minting across the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints. In total, Philadelphia minted more than 82 million Peace Dollar Coins during these years, with 30.8 million coins produced in 1923 alone, while Denver contributed 6.811 million coins and San Francisco struck 19.02 million coins.
