An MS64+ grade means the coin is of higher quality than a typical MS64 but not quite to the level of an MS65.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar shows a detailed image of Lady Liberty. Designed by George T. Morgan, this portrait depicts Liberty in left-profile with a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet. She is surrounded by 13 stars representing the original American colonies.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar, youll find an image of the heraldic eagle. This design by Morgan shows a bald eagle with its wings extended, holding arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, representing strength in both conflict and peace.
History
For the 1881 release of Morgan Silver Dollars, the US Mint operated out of four branch mints.
