Every 1926 Peace Silver Dollar offered has been given a Mint State 63 grade by PCGS. This grading level means the coin will have minor abrasions, some small contact marks, and a few larger marks or lines, but will still keep its mint-fresh luster without magnification.

Obverse

The obverse of the 1926 Peace Silver Dollar shows Lady Liberty in profile facing left. Her hair flows naturally, and a spiked crown rises from her head, representing the peace that followed the end of World War I.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the 1926 Peace Dollar, youll find de Franciscis vision of a peaceful yet strong bald eagle perched on a rock. The eagle rests with folded wings, gazing toward the sunrise, symbolizing peace and resilience.

History

The Peace Dollar series was created by Anthony de Francisci. An Italian immigrant, de Francisci came to the United States at 18 and is believed to have based Libertys image on his wife Teresa. His work presented a new, hopeful image of America after the Great War.
