Obverse

History
George T. Morgans skills in design and engraving quickly earned him a position at the Philadelphia Mint as an assistant engraver. He spent decades at the Mint, eventually becoming the seventh Chief Engraver in 1917. Over his nearly five-decade career, Morgan created many coins, medals, and patterns, remaining a key figure in U.S. Mint history until his death in 1925.
