Reverse
On the reverse of the 1913 $10 Canadian Reserve Coin, the Canadian coat of arms is shown. This version reflects the original 1868 design adopted after Confederation. The image features a shield with symbols representing several provinces and elements from the broader British heritage.
History
These coins were only produced for a short time, with fewer than 850,000 pieces made before production stopped in 1914 due to World War I. The coins available here were found in a stored group of 300,000 pieces held in the Bank of Canadas vaults. This group includes $5 and $10 coins from 1912 through 1914.
