This release was requested by the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Association to honor McKinleys contributions 15 years after his assassination. Reverse

The reverse side of the 1916 $1 McKinley Gold Coin highlights the McKinley Birthplace Memorial. Located in Canton, Ohio, this towering structure features a domed mausoleum standing 96 feet tall. Completed in 1907, the memorial was made possible by the generous donations of over one million Americans.

McKinleys domestic policies, focusing on high tariffs and the gold standard, were key in pulling the economy out of a serious downturn.
