The obverse and reverse of the 2025 Germania Beasts Gullinbursti Silver Round together show a full image of Gullinbursti. The obverse captures his head and upper torso, while the reverse displays the lower half and tail. Gullinburstis golden bristles are a standout feature, believed to shine so brightly they could turn night into day. His strong, impressive build reflected his purpose as a powerful guide for the god Freyr.

History

In the tales of Norse mythology, Gullinbursti was created by the dwarf brothers Brokkr and Sindri for the god Freyr. His legend is found in the Prose Edda, where he is described as a boar able to travel across earth, sea, and air, casting a golden glow that could brighten even the darkest places.
