Now, the Light of Liberty Series continues with its second design, crafted by Natanya Van Niekerk of the South African Mint. Each 2024 1 oz Reverse Proof Samoa Light of Liberty #2 Silver Coin is individually packaged in a presentation box and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The reverse-proof visuals use frosted backgrounds and mirrored imagery to create contrast, while the high-relief design adds extra depth.

Obverse

On the obverse of the 2024 Reverse Proof Samoa Light of Liberty Silver Coin is an eagle mid-flight over the Samoan coat of arms. John Mercanti, who formerly served as Chief Engraver at the US Mint, designed this side of the coin.

Reverse

The reverse was created by Ms. Van Niekerk and features Liberty striding forward with her torch raised. Behind her, youll see the shadowed shapes of the Big Five animals of Africaan element connected to her earlier work on the South African Mints Big Five series.
