Obverse

The obverse of the 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar features the well-known image of Lady Liberty created by George T. Morgan. Liberty is shown i,n profile facing left, wearing a coronet with the word Liberty across it. Her portrait is further detailed with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap, consistent with the original Morgan Dollar design.

Reverse

History

Morgan Silver Dollars have a long and distinctive history within US coinage. The original coins were first struck in 1878 and remained in production until 1904. Following a gap in silver dollar issuance, the US Mint produced Morgan Dollars again in 1921. That revival was short-lived, as the Mint transitioned to the Peace Dollar later that same year.
