Mexicos Silver Libertad series began in 1982 with the release of a 1 oz silver bullion coin. In 1983, a proof version was added, and by 1986, proof production became an annual event. Over the next several years, the Mexican Mint introduced a variety of sizes, including larger weights like the 5 oz version. BGASC now offers the 2025 5 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coin.

In 2025, the Mexican Mint sharply reduced the mintage of its Mexican Silver Libertads and chose not to release any 2025 Mexican Gold Libertads. For all BU Silver Libertads, mintage figures have fallen to historic lows, setting the stage for potential scarcity tied to this years production.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 5 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad, a golden eagle is perched on a prickly pear cactus while holding a snake. This version of the national seal is Mexicos current design and is surrounded by 10 historic versions of the coat of arms featured on the 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz coins.
Reverse
The reverse features the Winged Victory statue. Seen standing on the Mexican Independence Victory Column, this figure is a lasting symbol of freedom. In the background, the mountains Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl rise to complete the scene.
History
The design on the front shows the Mexican coat of arms, a well-known symbol drawn from the nations ancient past. This emblem is based on an illustration found in the Codex Mendoza from 1534, which told the story of the Aztecs being guided by a sign to build their new home.

How Does Free Shipping Work?
When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
When will my order ship?
Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
Can I choose the method of shipping?
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
Will I need to sign for my package?
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
What about International Orders?
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
