The 2025 1 oz Reverse Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coin is packaged in a secure plastic capsule. These coins feature a reverse proof style, where the raised design elements have a mirrored finish and the background fields are frosted. This look is the opposite of the traditional proof finish.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 coin includes Mexicos national coat of arms. This design shows a golden eagle holding a snake in its beak and talon while perched on a cactus. The main image is surrounded by 10 earlier versions of the national symbol, showing how it has changed over the years.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the coin is Winged Victory, a well-known symbol from Mexicos history. She is shown in a three-quarter pose, holding a laurel wreath in one hand and a broken chain in the other.

History

Mintages for the Reverse Proof Libertads have always been small. When the 1 oz version was first released in 2015, only 1,500 coins were made. Over the next few years, the 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz coins had different mintage totals. From 2019 through 2022, each size was limited to just 1,000 coins a year.
