First launched in 1979, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf became one of the most recognizable bullion coins in the world. Its long-standing reputation is second only to the South African Krugerrand in terms of uninterrupted mintage. The program started with one weight but now offers six sizes every year. While the 1 oz is the most common, fractional sizes such as the 1/4 oz remain in demand for many collectors and investors. Today, you can purchase the 2026 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins online from BGASC.
Highlights:
- Packaged in sealed plastic or in sheets of 20 coins!
- 47th year for the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf!
- Contains 1/4 troy oz of .9999 fine gold in BU condition.
- Legal tender value of $10 (USD) backed by Canada.
- King Charles III featured on the obverse.
- Sugar maple leaf design on the reverse.
BGASC offers these 2026 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are shipped individually in sealed plastic or in sets of 20 within sealed sheets. This 1/4 oz coin has been part of the Maple Leaf lineup since 1982 and continues to be a popular choice.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin features a new portrait of King Charles III. This left-facing design by Canadian artist Steven Rosati depicts the King without a crown. It is only the third time in Canadian coinage history that a Canadian artist has contributed a monarchs portrait.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin continues to display Walter Otts well-known sugar maple leaf design. First seen in 1979, the engraving has become the defining mark of the Maple Leaf program. It appears on all versions of the coin, including the gold, silver, platinum, and palladium issues.
History
In nature, sugar maple leaves take on different looks throughout the year. During spring and summer, chlorophyll gives the leaves their green color, which stays strong as the tree produces energy. Later in the season, the chlorophyll fades and other pigments create the rich autumn colors associated with maple trees.
