Obverse

The obverse design on the 2026 American Silver Eagle remains Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty. Liberty is shown walking toward the sunrise in left-facing profile, wrapped in the American flag. Her right hand reaches forward, and her left arm holds branches of oak and laurel.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Silver Eagle is Emily Damstras bald eagle design, first introduced in 2021. The image shows an eagle descending from flight, wings spread, gripping an oak branch in its talons.

History

In 2021, the US Mint introduced a redesigned Silver Eagle reverse along with added security elements, aiming for a more modern look without changing the coins identity. These bullion coins have been produced at different mint locations over the years, including San Francisco, Philadelphia, and West Point. Proof and burnished collector strikes from these facilities often draw added interest.
