2026 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coin (Gilded, Capsule + CoA)
Product Description
2026 is the Year of the Horse on the Lunar Calendar, and it is also known as the Year of the Fire Horse. This particular pairing happens only once every 60 years and is tied to the element of fire in both meaning and the artistic themes used for the celebration. The Year of the Fire Horse runs from February 17, 2026, to February 5, 2027. Perth Mint celebrates with a large lineup of collectible Year of the Horse pieces for those who enjoy lunar-themed coins. Right now, 2026 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coins with gilded elements are available online from BGASC.

Obverse
The obverse side of the 2026 1 oz Silver Lunar Horse Coin comes with an effigy of King Charles III. This first-generation portrait used on Australian coins was created by Dan Thorne and also appears on coinage from other Commonwealth nations in the Pacific region. The depiction shows His Majesty in left-profile relief, and the portrait is shown without a crown.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coin, you will find two horses running along a riverbank. Running horse imagery is a familiar part of Fire Horse designs, as it helps represent energy, movement, and the determined spirit often linked with the sign. For this Lunar Series III issue, the horses have been enhanced with a thin layer of 24-karat gold, giving the main figures a gilded look that contrasts with the silver surface.
History
In Chinese astrology, the Fire Horse is often connected to intense energy, bold passion, and a sense of transformation. Since this year appears only once every 60 years, it is often treated as a standout moment within the cycle. Individuals born during a Fire Horse year are commonly described as confident and independent, with a natural ability to take charge. The fire element is believed to strengthen the horses adventurous side, creating personalities that are viewed as ambitious, creative, and motivated by achievement.
