The reverse design of the 2026-W Proof American Silver Eagle showcases Emily Damstras bald eagle artwork. Introduced in 2021, this design depicts the eagle descending in left-profile relief with its wings raised high. An oak branch is firmly held in the eagles talons, adding symbolic detail to the image.

History

Proof Silver Eagles were first produced in the 1980s, with limited mintages between 1986 and 1989. During those years, production ranged from roughly 500,000 to just over one million coins annually. All Proof issues from that decade were struck at the San Francisco Mint and remain notable for their place in the early history of the series.
