The obverse of the 2026 Rwanda Silver African Ounce Spotted Hyena Coin showcases the national coat of arms of Rwanda. This detailed symbol includes a woven basket at its center, sorghum and coffee branches on each side, a cogwheel representing industry, and a rising sun above. Traditional shields flank the design, while a rope and knot around the edge stand for the unity of Rwandas people.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2026 1/12 oz Silver African Ounce Spotted Hyena Coin features the familiar outline of Africa, a signature of every coin in the Wildlife Series. In the lower-left, a Spotted Hyena is shown with its cubs, representing the intelligence and resilience of this animal. History

Spotted hyenas live in social groups called clans, led by females and sometimes numbering up to 80 individuals. These animals display intelligence, teamwork, and communication skills that make them a vital part of the natural balance in Africas ecosystems.
