2023 1 oz Gold Kangaroo Coins are Australian .9999 fine gold bullion coins produced by the Perth Mint. Each coin contains a full troy ounce of .9999 fine gold (24kt) and comes sealed in a plastic mint capsule.
In 1986 the Perth Mint introduced the Gold Nugget bullion coin series, featuring images of actual gold nuggets found amongst Australia’s landscape. Starting in 1990, the Perth Mint replaced the image of the gold nugget with a kangaroo, and in 2008 renamed the coin from the Australian Nugget to the Australian Kangaroo.
