The silver kangaroo coin’s stunning reverse side depicts the iconic bounding red kangaroo surrounded by rays of sunlight as well as a micro-engraved letter “A” appearing within the first A of “Australian” (which can be seen under magnification) providing added authentication and detection against counterfeits. It also features the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, the 2022 year-date and coin specifications as well as The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination of $1.00.
