  • Poured Silver Bars & Shapes at BGASC

A Poured Silver Bar is exactly as it sounds, a Silver Bar that involves a process of pouring, typically molten silver, into a mold to make a silver bar. These bars, due to how they’re made, can differ slightly from bar to bar, even two bars from the same mint can differ slightly. With so many popular designs and mints that specialize in Poured Silver Bars to choose from, right here you can learn more about Poured Silver Bars & Shapes.

    Types of Poured Silver Bars

At BGASC, you’ll notice two main types of Poured Silver Bars, cast bars and hand-poured bars. While the process in which they’re made is similar, they do differ a little.

    • Cast Silver Bars: Silver shot or ingots are placed into a mold that is completely enclosed. The silver is heated, usually through induction technology. Once the silver has cooled, it’s removed and given design elements to one side of the bar.
    • Hand-Poured Silver Bars: Molten silver is poured into a mold that has one side left exposed. The metal is allowed to cool in the mold before being removed and cleaned.

    Poured Silver Bar Producers

    • Engelhard: Engelhard isn’t involved in the precious metals space anymore, however, their Poured Silver Bars are still popular via the secondary market.
    • Germania Mint: One of the most popular producers of cast silver bars is the Germania Mint. Once a Polish numismatic store, the Germania Mint is now a top private mint in the industry. They’re well-known for their array of gold, silver, and copper cast bars. Notably, their Poured Silver Bars are made with a purity of .9999 pure silver.
    • MK Barz: Established in Los Angeles, California, MK Barz is a relatively newer name in the industry. They are known for their wide array of hand-poured silver bars made in all types of shapes and sizes.
    • Monarch Metals: Monarch was founded in southern Oregon in 2008 and was established due to the increasing demand for bullion products. Like MK Barz, Monarch is well-known for their unique hand-poured bars that come in an array of shapes and sizes.
    • SilverTowne: Once a small coin shop in Indiana, SilverTowne has quickly risen to become one of the top private mints in America. They’re known for their unique silver bars and rounds, such as their cast silver Ponybars.

    Popular Options

    • Pony Bar: Produced by SilverTowne this line of cast silver bars showcases a Pony Express rider on the obverse along with identifying marks of the bar. Bars are available in sizes ranging from 5 oz to 100 oz.
    • Building Block: Struck by Monarch Metals, these Building Blocks resemble Lego pieces, allowing you to buy multiples and stack them on top of one another. Every piece is made from .999 pure silver.
