1/10th oz Gold Kangaroo and Nugget Coins are Australian .9999 fine gold bullion coins produced by the Perth Mint. The Perth Mint introduced the Gold Nugget series in 1986, featuring images of actual gold nuggets found amongst Australia’s landscape. Starting in 1990, the Perth Mint replaced the image of the gold nugget with a kangaroo, and in 2008 renamed the coin from the Australian Nugget to the Australian Kangaroo.
These attractive 24 kt gold investment coins are produced in limited mintages and feature a different design each year, adding to their overall appeal and collectability. The obverse of the Gold Kangaroo / Nugget features artist Ian Rank-Broadley’s likeness of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the coin’s AUD denomination. The reverse features a gold nugget (1986-89) or kangaroo (1990-present) design unique to its specific year.
