Obverse

Pratt’s Incuse Indian design is displayed on the obverse of the SilverTowne Incuse Indian Silver Round. This left-profile portrait highlights a Native American tribal leader adorned with a full headdress, surrounded by 15 stars, and the word Liberty.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 1/10 oz Incuse Indian Silver Round exhibits the design of the American bald eagle, which was originally created by Saint-Gaudens for the Indian Head Gold Eagle coin in 1907 and inspired Pratt’s original designs.

History

The incuse strike used by the US Mint for Pratts designs on the Half Eagle and Quarter Eagle was the first of its kind on American coinage. The designs were struck in a manner that sunk them beneath the surface area of the coin, rather than engraving the images with 3D relief onto the surface of the coins. That same technique is used in the production of these silver rounds.
