The obverse of this 1 oz. gold coin features the Beijing Temple of Heaven and on the reverse is the iconic playful panda figure eating bamboo leaves. Chinese Gold Pandas are issued in Prooflike Brilliant Uncirculated quality sealed in mint plastic with a different design each year. (A freeze of the design was announced with the 2001 issues and thus the 2002 Pandas were identical to 2001, however collectors spoke up and China reverted to their original policy.) 1982 is the Chinese Gold panda’s first year of issue. Fractional weights are also available.
